Why Early Access? Sticky

Baby Dino Adventures is the game I always wanted to create. We are a team of two persons with both a full-time job. This means we work on the game in our free time and during weekends.

Early access is important for us as it allows us to deliver features and get early feedbacks while we’re developing them.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

The game has been on early access since 2020 and since its launch, many things have changed in our daily lives. We're now working on the game in our spare time and at weekends, so we don't know yet exactly how much time we'll need to finish the game.

At the moment we're hoping for a final release date of 2026 at the earliest.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

Since its launch, the game has already received numerous updates. New content such as new levels, new mechanics and new enemies, as well as new environments, improved graphics, musics, and of course bug fixes. We're using early access to develop, test and correct the game all along the way with the help of the community so that we can finally reach the final version.

In terms of content, the final version of the game will contain:

  • 5 different environments: forest, beach, cave, mountain and volcano;
  • 10 levels per environment;
  • 1 egg to collect in each level;
  • 1 secret level to unlock per environment;

That's a total of 50 levels to complete, 10 extra levels and a total of 50 eggs to collect.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

The game and its main mechanics are still under development, which means you may encounter bugs here and there. We're fixing them on the fly and working on adding content at the same time, right up until the final release.

The game currently includes:

  • Solo mode and co-op mode up to 4 players;
  • The first 3 environments (Forest, Beach, and Cave) with 10 levels each;
  • 2 of the 5 planned bosses (Forest, and Cave);
  • Collectibles like food, dinosaur eggs, and crates;
  • Different food types such as steak, carrot, broccoli, apple, strawberry, banana, chicken leg, etc;
  • Some special levels with non-player characters and unique quests;
  • Various enemies like chestnuts, bees, pea plants, crabs, seagulls, monkeys, bats, snakes, etc;
  • Obstacles like spikes, moving platforms, explosive crates, wood traps, coconuts, waterfalls, mine carts, mine lifts, etc;
  • Additional accessibility options;
  • A few more cute stuff;

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

We don't intend to change the price of the game at the moment. We want the price to be affordable for as many players as possible, no matter what part of the world or country they live in.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

The game as it is today would not exist without its community.

Players can use the game's Itch.io forums and our Discord server to share their opinions, suggestions and bugs. We also have a lot of fun discussing the game with players on our social networks.
