That's great!

I'll provide you with a link so you can upload your entry! I'll need a link to the game on itch, however. Thanks for your participation!

I'm sorry for the delay! I got suddenly busy at the release time.

You're allowed to make teams or go solo!

There is no centralized place to collect and chat just yet, however I'm part of an RPG Maker Game Jam Community Discord Server, which you may join and talk about.

It's not the official meeting place, and there are other jams going on there, too. I'm also not an expert of managing discord servers and will probably not have much time to moderate it, so for now, you may use the community forum here at itch.io as the official communication place for this jam.

How about some random scribble on the left side page, done with a feather pen?
Or many scribbles, with "different handwritings" meaning the different stories on the same book the contestants will be making!

This is amazing! Thanks! Already updated the jam with it.

Would it be too much to ask for it to have anything signaling RPG Maker? I don't want to mislead anyone clicking on it, and lead people looking for a jam like this to find it.

I'm thinking about something like a feather writing on the left page, and some RPG-Maker related logo or feature on the right page. It could stay simplistic and monochromatic (like one of those simple SVGs you can find). I also like gold for the color theme.

If your could fit a chain into it, too, would be 10/10. But if it's too hard to make it fit or make sense it's OK.

LET'S GOOOO! I'm using both!

(1 edit)

Woooo let's gooo!
Scenario 1: An open book in a forest, surrounded by RPG maker's default Actors across its iterations.
Scenario 2:  A more simplistic one could be made, with a tree and a book in the middle (or even just its silhouette!)

Of course, I'll be overjoyed with anything! So go wild!

Ah! I see how that could look like a mistake, but:
"a Story (about a Story)*" is a regex joke.

/a Story (about a Story)*/ would match "a Story" and any amount of "about a Story" afterwards. Like "a Story about a Story about a Story about a Story" and so on...

I'll simplify the joke.

It refers to scope creep, where you expect to be able to do more than you can actually do in a time frame, and that hurts your expectations and the final product.
Thanks for your collaboration!

Please do! Anything that you find is odd, confusing, poorly explained or hard to understand as-is, let me know as a reply of this post!

Hello everyone! In this thread I'll post ways you can help the jam out to stand out more and become overall of higher quality!

These are pretty much quests for you, if you want to see them that way. For the sake of fairness, only your name will be shout out, but not your game.

We need:

  • Banner Picture (done! Thanks DesktopGHOST!)
  • Proofreading/asking about potential misunderstandings of the rules. (done! Thanks Doma!)
  • A moderator, probably.
  • Cover Image (done! Thanks DesktopGHOST!)

From the VERY start, I absolutely HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE the officer. Good writing!

The browser version, on firefox, doesn't fully work though.

EDIT: Okay I understand I hate being gaslit. Amazing game.

I got softlocked on the third act (iirc), being able to move through everything.
Love your writing.

Found out about this via Vernias's video. I'd SO love to see/modify the source. Otherwise, great game!

I beat 38 levels on 214 bullets with a time of 597.64. Interesting game.
I would definitely play it once or twice more if it had more hazards and if enemy bullets disappeared after clearing something like 5 levels (or became tangible by your own after some time)
