Thank you! Oh for sure, it was a fun jam but I'm definitely enjoying having some free time to unwind again lol. Thanks for playing our game, hope you had a fun jam! :)

Amazing job with the visuals of your game btw!

Thanks a lot! I'm not sure I'll do anything further with it after the jam but I may end up cleaning up some of the rough edges and improving the level design a bit. I definitely agree about the information overload, the game would have definitely benefited a lot from a proper tutorial. Lessons for next time though. Thanks for playing! :)

I really dig this in concept and execution. Didn't end up getting to play it with friends before the jam ended but played it with the NPCs and it was pretty fun (albeit a little janky)! Really surprised to see NPCs for a multiplayer game given the short time period for the jam too, amazing job!

This is the one entry which has made me feel true despair. Watching the box do an unexpected bounce or slip out of my hands at the worst of moments shook me to the depths of my soul. Loved your entry, it's really well done and it's pretty as hell, great juxtopasition with the music too.

This was a really great submission, especially for a first time entry! Ggreat job with the concept, mechanics and the art/music. I really enjoyed the rat and 4d cubes being additional little obstacles in the game's plan and sending things flying everywhere, you certainly embraced chaos with this one. :P

Thanks a lot! It can definitely get pretty hectic and even I died to it a lot too while playing. :')

Thanks for playing our game, hope you had a great time with the jam!

100% agree about the information overload. One thing I particularly noted about your entry was how nice the experience was for new players to learn and am definitely taking notes for the future. :P

Thanks for giving our game another go!

Thanks!

It can definitely be difficult, especially with the projectile goop. The game was more designed around using the flame turrets to protect areas and then only when you unlock the hazmat suit (4 sample stations) you can move through the goop safely and then clear areas with the antigoop (all sample stations filled). Of course you can do it somewhat with the flame turrets but it's a lot more involved.

Thanks for playing!

I enjoyed your submission a lot and appreciated how everything felt logical and simple enough that a little experimentation was enough to work it out. I also dug how the ingredients expired in your take on this genre so you don't just have ingredients sitting around waiting to be used. Great job! :)

Thanks! :) Yeah, I definitely wish I had a better job with the new player experience of the game. Lessons for next time I guess. Thanks for playing! :)

Pretty neat concept! :) Took me a little bit to understand it properly but it was pretty cool after I got the hang of it. I definitely understand the crow caws in horror films a lot more now though lol.

Yeah in hindsight , it certainly wasn't the best executed and I should really have prioritized a proper tutorial more earlier in the process. Glad you ended up liking it and hope you had a great jam. Really enjoyed your entry btw! :)

I really enjoyed youur game, ir game felt really fun to play and the art/sound were impeccable. Consider me a happy little froggo too. :)

Thanks! I agree about the sound design. I'm pretty inexperienced with the sound side of things and didn't have much time to work on it. I'm hoping to do better with that in the future though. :)

I had a lot of fun with your entry! I really enjoyed some of the mechanical details (such as having to be careful with how you place your turrets because the bees try to catch multiple with their death blast) and the sfx/music. Nice job!

This is one of my favourite entries I've played for a game jam, I really love the aesthetics and soundtrack (though the speech sfx were a little grating for me). I kept having this foreboding feeling while walking backward up the path that there would be something spooky ahead. Would love to see a full game for this. :)

I thought that the gameplay and mechanics felt really thought out and I liked the music a lot. I did feel a bit overwhelmed by the amount of text sometimes but not being part of the target audience for such a game may be a factor. :P Nice job!

Hey, tried playing your game. Really enjoyed the music and flying around as a butterfly but I kept running into issues where I'd talk to people and it would lock me in place with nothing happening, even time travelling wouldn't fix it. (It would only happen some of the times I tried talking to them)

Loved this entry. The game mechanics were interesting and fun and it felt really polished with the immaculate art and audio. Also, Rick Flannel's dialogue made me laugh. 10/10

Hey, it's been fixed now if you feel like trying it again. Thanks for calling our attention to it! :)

Sorry about that, it made me sad to see too when I woke up. It's fixed now if you feel like giving it another go!

Hey, thanks for trying to play! It's all fixed now. I hope it feels as cool as it sounded if you give it a play. :)

Hey, thanks for bringing that to my attention! It turned out that I had a tween causing a problem in the web build after exporting. It's fixed now.!

Thanks for the compliments. Also, you would probably know if you got the bad ending so I imagine you got the good one, nice job! I agree, the artist did an amazing job, especially considering that she also made her own submission in the game jam as well. Thanks for playing and hope you enjoyed the game jam!

I really liked this game.

The gameplay felt really creative and intuitive, nice idea! I also really enjoyed the retro feeling to the music and the aesthetic for the enemies. I feel like it would benefit from expansion on the attacks/moves as some things felt like a more normal attack and increasing the need for and viability of defensive moves (I beat it by mostly using the dagger on the ranger looking adventurer which felt really strong). Otherwise though, it's a really cool and interesting entry and I'd like to see where it goes if you choose to work more on it.

Nice submission! I enjoyed seeing a sci-fi entry, didn't expect to see it. It was pretty fun seeing the different weapons you could get and I really liked the designs for the creatures and the astronaut. Personally, I would have preferred the final weapon being more akin to the earlier weapons in its area of effect. Also, would have liked to see the ability to change the controls/audio settings on the main menu. Good job on implementing that though!

This was pretty neat. I'm not typically into the genre but the music and presentation were well done. I would have preferred if the upgrades would have an effect on the challenges as it would enhance their appeal.

I'm glad you enjoy the concept of the game! I wasn't sure how it would be received so it's really great to hear that people enjoy it. Unfortunately, not being able to figure it out is a running theme in the comments and rightly so. The game definitely needs some changes in order to improve its clarity and it will hopefully receive them soon. Thanks for your compliments about the art too! I was really amazed by the artist's work and it's really nice to see everybody sharing my appreciation for it.

PS: Really enjoyed the concept of your entry too! It was really interesting and you executed on it very well.

Thanks for your compliments/criticisms! I entirely agree with your points about the game's clarity and hope to improve it in that regard. There were various things planned which may have helped but I didn't prioritize as much as I should have in retrospect. I also had several elements which I half-implemented which just led to more confusion (such as the personality guide and the diary which appears clickable but does nothing).

I highly appreciate the link to the stream and it was invaluable watching you play... even if it hurt my soul a little seeing the confusion which the game's current shortcomings brought about.

Sorry for your frustrations and thank you for playing!

This reminded me of Lemmings in all the best ways. Very impressive and polished for a jam game. Nice job!

I do agree with what someone else said about the speed of the bottys. It would feel a bit nicer if it was faster, however I understand this could also result in difficulties for the player at points so it may be better to leave it as is.

PS: Am very curious about how you approached the digging mechanic and will be sure to take a look through your source code. Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you, that's pretty high praise considering some of the other entries in this jam.

We definitely intend to work on Replacement Claim further and implement a lot of the things which time restrictions wouldn't allow and adjust it in the areas we felt were lacking.  Thanks for checking out our game and I hope you enjoyed the game jam!

Ps: I enjoyed your entry a lot, very cool theme

I enjoyed this a lot when I had a good run. The art was pretty nice, I really liked the designs for the units/giants. I also absolutely loved the audio for this, the music felt very fitting and the sound effects for the attacks felt impactful/satisfying.

I would have preferred if there was a start menu of some sort, it caught me off guard a bit when it jumped straight into the game. This is definitely a minor thing, especially considering that the player isn't required to take immediate action. Also, in its current state, it feels like the game is very heavily dependent on the RNG. I understand from other comments though that you are aware of this.

All in all, this was a nice submission and I'm glad to have played it. Hope to see more from you in the future!

Nice game! The premise was really cool and you executed it really well!

The art was really impressive, especially as it was all hand drawn. I loved all the sounds/music and it was really cool that when you are low on health it makes the kettle whistling noise (though that did get a bit repetitive for me).

Really impressive project for the game jam, nice job!

Loved the graphics/sound design on this! I did experience some frustration with the roller and it missing tiles... but otherwise it's just straight up good. Great job!

I liked it, took me a bit to finish because of that dang tree on level two! Liked the art, especially on the well done screen! :P

Did run into the bug with the microphone repeatedly stopping working and also another one where if you pause it occasionally causes your balloon to go flying upward? Not entirely sure what causes that one. Other than though, was fun to play!

Hope you enjoyed the game jam!

This was a very impressive game to have made in such a short time. I was surprised to see so many mechanics in the game. The game structure flows well, the music fits the theme, etc. Everything is implemented really well, nice job!

The only criticism I could give is perhaps just user error but on one heist, I exchanged two paintings and it used the less ideal of the forgeries I was holding to replace them. I think a way of intuitively handling this would be beneficial. :)

Loved seeing this game here and hope to see more from you!

This was a pretty neat platformer. I enjoyed seeing the smiles on the face of the puffies after they catch you, so wholesome! Flinging yourself with the catapult was pretty fun too, though I did find other parts of the movement a bit sluggish for my liking. Otherwise though, I liked it. Hope to see you make more in the future! :)

I agree, it would certainly benefit from that a lot. I knew the game's clarity was less than ideal when I submitted but I didn't realize just how confusing it could be until I watched more people playing it. I hope to revisit Replacement Claim in the future and expand upon it so that learning how to play becomes more of an enjoyable experience.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad that you found it cool in concept! :)

Thanks so much for that and I'm glad you enjoyed the concept.

I very much agree with your point about the puzzles and would like to work on Replacement Claim more in the future to rectify that.

Thanks for playing!

I definitely agree  with all of this. It was my first time doing a proper project/game jam and I definitely felt the time constraints. I really wish that I had found/made time to improve the clarity of the game. As to the full-screen thing, I didn't actually think about it until after it was too late to update the submission, it would definitely have been a big improvement though.

Thanks for the kind words and playing our game!

EDIT: Just to add to this, I didn't actually realize there was an option to do it through itch.io without editing the submission. Have now enabled this. Thank you for mentioning this and causing me to look at it more. :)
