I like the idea. Noted.

Looking at my other games, Battleground Cleanup is probably the one where the cohesion between game play, atmosphere and content is best. The game does not have a lot of content and the game play is always the same, but for some reason I consider it to be my best game so far.

Ran out of time to add a cool ending to the game 🆘. I underestimated the complexity of games like Tasty Planet/Tasty Blue, maybe I'll revisit the game and make some sort of enhanced version, like I did with another 2 of my games.

Yup, the randomness is what's either making the game too hard or too easy, I was relying on that a little too much when I originally made the game for GMTK 2022.

Thanks for your feedback!

I personally can't take credit for the art (my friend designed everything ^^). The gameplay was one of my responsibilities and I agree that it has major problems, the balancing being one of them. The ghosts not spawning after dying once, is definetly a bug which I'll fix (eventually) ;)

All in all, I've been thinking about ways to remake the game with a new concept, to replace the "find 3 objects on the map" part of the game play with something better suited for the story and setting of the game. Just having trouble coming up with something atm.

Looking at the sketches, I really hope this will be a "Papa's Freezeria" type of game. I loved playing the "Papa's" games when I was a kid.

I've been looking for inspiration for my own dev logs, and I think I'll definitely use this as a bit of a reference for future dev logs. :D

Good luck to both of you!  ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ🍰

Agreed. I pretty much picked the first one where I was like "Jup, that probably looks like Witch handwriting".

Really enjoyed the game, congrats!

I like the starving mechanic.

Hitbox a little too large, but other than that a great game.

Amazing art.

Very fun minigames.

Cool idea, really great base for puzzle elements.

Great art!

Tower Defense, yay!

Very cool, I love the idea, amazing art and sfx!

Great effort!

Interesting mechanic, haven't seen that before.

Great for your first game jam.

Amazing buildup to the actual scary part.

Lol, I didn't expect anyone to do voice acting for a 48 hour jam xD

Haven't seen that mechanic before, really unique and great puzzles!

It's getting funnier and funnier every time the dude reacts xD

Insane amount of polish for 48 hours. The puzzles, the sound design, and the graphics are all amazing.

Amazing that you managed to pull this off in 48 hours.

Even with the simple graphics, I was immersed the entire time. The game play is a simple base, that allows for strategy and planning ahead.

I only think the slider minigame could be a little faster, but other than that, I liked the various minigames.

Just took me a little while to realize I could move, but otherwise I liked it, really unique game play.

Scary.

I can see this becoming a sort of "rapid fire" game, like Dumb Ways to Die or something, the minigames remind me of that.

I think that's a solid base to add more content to, after the voting phase!

I like the concept of being stuck in a loop and especially the music helps to make it feel as eerie as possible.

Thanks for playing!

(1 edit)

The art is amazing, especially that parallax gives it a polished style. The game play is simple but fun.

The only thing I think is annoying a little bit, is that the game seems to force you to defeat all enemies before allowing you to proceed to the next level as I found myself trying to jump over the pumpkins in the beginning.

(Also, I read the game's name as "Oh naw" in my head which cracked me up for a bit ^^)

Amazing art style, polished game play, just amazing overall.

I really enjoyed that! I think the camera movement could've been a little faster, but other than that I liked the concept. (And getting fired for killing a bunch of people is a little too harsh imo ^.^)

I really liked the intro cut scene, really looks like a lot of work went into it.

While the gameplay itself was quite simple, I like the floaty jump physics and the animations are also great

Thank you!

All thanks to my friend!
